Peri Peri Chicken

~Recipe Credit: Abu Aa’ishah~


  • 1 chicken cut into pieces
  • 3 heaped tsps paprika
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 2 tbsps vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1-2 homemade marinade blocks- optional (see recipe)
  • 1/2-3/4 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 heaped tsp garlic paste
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp oregano


  • few knobs of butter


  1. Recite Bismillah.
  2. Allow chicken to drain completely.
  3. Marinate chicken in listed ingredients.
  4. Preheat oven to 200c.
  5. Place chicken in oven dish , add the knobs of butter & cover with foil.
  6. Bake for approximately 20 mins & remove the juices from the tray into a separate pot.
  7. Bake for a further 20 mins & again remove any juices from the tray.
  8. Turn over the chicken
  9. Bake without foil, until tender.
  10. Simmer the juices for a few mins to give you a flavoursome gravy.
  11. Serve the chicken & it’s gravy with home made chips & garlic bread! (see recipe)
