
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Moongh dhal (soaked overnight)
- 4 tbsps oil or as needed
- 1/2 onion (finely sliced)
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp dhana powder
- 1/2 tsp jeeru powder
- Pinch of turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Whole green chillies – optional
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/3 cup tinned tomato (grounded)
Method
- Recite Bismillah.
- Boil moongh dhal in water until it reaches your desired level of softness.
- Fry onions and green chillies in oil until pinkish in colour.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and braise.
- Add the spices and cook for a few seconds.
- Then add the tomato and cook till oil releases.
- Add the moongh dhal with its water to your preference. Cook for 10 mins on low heat or until you achieve your preferred consistency.
- Serve with hot chappattis.
