Ingredients
- 1 small onion (finely sliced)
- 4 tbsps oil ( you may need more )
- 1 tsp garlic (3/4 measuring tsp)
- 1 tsp coriander powder (3/4 measuring tsp)
- 3/4 tsp cumin powder (1/2 measuring tsp)
- 1 tsp green chillies (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp turmeric (half of a 1/4 measuring tsp)
- Salt to taste
- Red chilli powder to taste
- 3 tbsps grounded tomato (1/3 cup)
- 300g mixed veg
- 1 tsp kalunji seeds
Method
- Recite Bismillah.
- Fry onions in oil till pinkish in colour.
- Lower the heat then add garlic & green chillies.
- Cook for a few minutes.
- Then add cumin powder, coriander powder, red chillies, turmeric & salt.
- Cook for a few minutes.
- Now add grounded tomato & cook till oil releases.
- Add the mixed veg & kalunji seeds.
- Cook on low heat with the lid closed for 10 minutes.
- Then add 1/4 cup of water.
- Cook on low heat for about 2 minutes.
- Place a flat skillet underneath the pot & cook on low heat till the veg is tender.
- You may need to add more water & let it cook for longer.
- Serve with hot chapatis!
