Farmers’s pie

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken (cubed)
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsps. green chillies
  • juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • 2 tsps. chicken spice
  • 1 large potato (cubed)
  • 2 tbsps. ghee
  • 1 cup mixed veg

Dough:

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 125g butter
  • 2 tsps. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • enough cold milk to make a soft dough (a bit more than 1/2 a cup)

Toppings:

  • Few slices of green pepper
  • Few slices of tomato
  • Grated cheese

Method

  1. Recite Bismillah.
  2. Braise chicken in ghee.
  3. Add in all the ingredients & cook till tender.
  4. Allow to cool.
  5. Make the dough by rubbing the flour, butter, baking powder & salt together.
  6. Add milk to form a soft dough.
  7. Roll out the dough & place in a 9″/ 10″ greased baking pan / tray.
  8. Spread the chicken filling.
  9. Cover with tomato & pepper slices.
  10. Sprinkle grated cheese.
  11. Bake at 180c for approximately 30 minutes or till golden.
