~Recipe credit: Mummy Bobat~
Ingredients
- 1 chicken (cut into pieces)
- 1 cup fried onions
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup grounded tin tomato
- Juice of half a small lemon (3 tsps)
- 1 1/2 tsps coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp saffron
- 2 tsps ginger garlic
- 5 tbsps oil
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 level tsp red chilli powder
- 1 taj (cinnamon stick)
- 2 lawing (cloves)
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Green chillies to taste
- 2 whole green chillies
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- Handful chopped coriander
- shaan bombay biryani mix to taste (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups rice
- 3 level tsps salt
- Fried onions
- butter/ghee
Method
- Recite Bismillah.
- Marinate chicken in listed ingredients for a few hours.
- Boil rice till half cooked with the salt . (about 8 mins)
- Line a small pot with foil in such a way that you will then be able to cover the biryani at the end.
- Add a few small knobs of butter/ ghee to the bottom of the pot.
- Now add half the rice.
- Add all of the chicken.
- Then layer the remaining rice.
- Sprinkle fried onions & few knobs of butter / ghee.
- Sprinkle 3/4 cup water over the rice.
- Seal the biryani with the foil & then a tight lid.
- Cook on high heat for 5 mins till steam releases.
- Then cook on medium heat for 10 mins.
- Finally cook on low heat with a flat skillet underneath for half hour. Place something heavy on lid as this will stop the steam from escaping the pot. Enjoy!

Salaam, Ramadan Kareem. is the 1.5 cups of rice in this recipie right? Ive just started to make but wonder if the rice is a bit less? Not sure as wld hope rice to fluff out. Maybe cause im using too large a pot. Im using barkat dehradhuni rice. Jzk and jzk for ur recipies may Allah bless all ur efforts.

Salaams…if I use 3 chicken do I have to times all ingredient by 3.. and will the cooking Time have to be extended? Jzk
