-In 4 rakaats of fardh, surah will only be recited in the first 2 rakaats, in the third & fourth rakaats only surah Faatihah will be recited.

Witr Salaah

-There are 3 rakaats of witr waajib in the esha salaah. Waajib is similar to faradh. They are obligatory rakaats. If these rakaats are missed out, that particular salaah will not be valid & one will be sinful.

-Surah will be recited in all rakaats after Surah Faatiha.

-In the last rakaat of witr, after reciting the surah, one will raise their hands till their shoulders reciting takbeer. Then fold your hands back on to your chest & recite dua-e-qunoot & then complete salaah as usual , rukhu, sajdah etc.

Dua-e-Qunoot:

O Allah! We implore you alone for help and beg forgiveness from You alone, And believe in You and rely on You, And praise You for all the good things, And we are grateful to You and not ungrateful to You, And we turn away and give up him who disobeys you.

O Allah! You alone do we worship,  And for You do we pray and bow before You alone, And we hasten to please You and we fear Your severe punishment,  And we hope for Your Mercy and fear Your admonishment,  Verily’ your severe punishment is going to overtake the unbelievers.

-If a person does not know due-e-qunoot they should make effort to learn it & in the meantime recite:

رَبِّ  three times

Or  اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي three times
